Aleocharinae from New Zealand collected by Dr. P.M. Giachino and Dr. M. Daccordi. (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) - A taxonomic study of the Staphylinidae subfamily Aleocharinae of the north New Zealand is presented. Seven tribes (Pronomaeini, Gyrophaenini, Homalotini, Bolitocharini, Falagriini, Athetini, Oxypodini), nineteen genera (Myllaena, Notiomerinx, Coenonica, Makrosolenia, Falagria, Kompsatele, Dasytricheta, Ecomorypora, Amischa, Australoconota, Geostibasoma, Leptostiba, Neozealatheta, Pelioptera, Neozelandusa, Pronomaeida, Thrixenglyphe, Calodera, Neodoxa) and 27 species are recognized. Five genera (Makrosolenia of the Bolitocharini Kompsatele of the Falagriini, Neozealatheta of the Athetini, Pronomaeida and Thrixenglyphe of the Oxypodini) and 20 species (Myllaena tangarakauensis n. sp., Coenonica neozealandensis n. sp., Makrosolenia neozealandensis n. sp., Falagria neozealandicola n. sp., Kompsatele neozealandense n. sp., Ecomorypora tongarirensis n. sp., Ecomorypora daccordii n. sp., Amischa neozealandensis n. sp., Australoconota neozealandensis n. sp., Geostibasoma neozealandensis n. sp., Leptostiba minor n. sp., Neozealatheta urewerensis n. sp., Pelioptera eruensis n. sp., Neozelandusa ruapehumontis n. sp., Pronomaeida pectinis n. sp., Pronomaeida giachinoi n. sp., Thrixenglyphe neozealandense n. sp., Calodera neozealandensis n. sp., Neodoxa tongarirensis n. sp., Neodoxa tapuensis n. sp.) are described as new to the science. New combinations is proposed for 1 species of the Oxypodini. Each new genus and species is described, compared and illustrated.
